Frequently Asked Questions About Car Moving and Vehicle Transport

Q. How far in advance should I schedule the transport of my vehicle?
A. We request that you schedule your move as soon as possible to insure that your car is moved within the time frame which best meets your schedule; however, if an immediate pick up is necessary, we can arrange for your vehicle to be picked up within 24 hours.

Q. What method of payments does TAT accept?
A. TAT accepts cash, credit cards, money orders, or cashier's checks.

Q. How do I get a quote?
A. You may get a free instant quote on this web site, or you may contact our sales department at 1 209-606-8892.

Q. What is an oversize fee?
A. Some vehicles are much larger than traditional passenger vehicles. Most full size SUVs fit in to this category. Because of the extraordinary dimensions, these vehicles take up the amount of space normally used for two vehicles, thus resulting in the need for an “oversize” fee.

Q. Where will my car be picked up and delivered?
A. TAT will arrange for your vehicle to be picked up and delivered at a location convenient for you, such as your home, office, or place of business.

Q. Do I have to be present when we pick up or deliver your vehicle?
A. Yes.  We request that you, or your designated agent, be present upon pick up of your vehicle. An inspection is performed and a contract bill of lading must be signed.  If you are not able to be there, please call our office at 1 209-606-8892, and they will be happy to help you.

Q.  What if my vehicle drop-off or pick-up location is inaccessible to the truck?
A.  Most auto transport trucks are quite large, up to 75 feet long.  This sometimes make it impossible to reach many residential areas.  If that’s the case with your auto move, your vehicle mover will attempt to get as close as possible to your delivery location.  We can also arrange a convenient location, such as a shopping center, to either pick up or deliver your vehicle.

Q.  What if my vehicle does not run?
A.  We will add additional charges to cover an inoperable vehicle in our quote if you inform us up front of your vehicle’s condition.  We will add $200.00 plus loading and unloading charges to your quote if we are not informed of the vehicle’s true condition.

Q. How do I prepare my vehicle?
A. Please have no more that 1/2 tank of fuel, remove all personal items from your vehicle, repair any chips and/or cracks in your windows, and make sure your vehicle is prepared for changing weather conditions.
